Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 28, 2026 · This version replaces the policy dated April 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pix3l Pioneer LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company doing business as AI in the Lead ("we," "us," or "Company"), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information. We have tried to write it the way we write everything else on this site: plainly. If anything is unclear, email matt@ai-in-the-lead.com and a human will answer.
1. What This Policy Covers
This policy applies to:
- aiinthelead.com — our main website and directory
- Websites we host on aiinthelead.com subdomains — both AI-generated preview sites and sites a business has claimed
- Customer websites we host on custom domains — sites built with our AITL Instant Site product and served by us under a subscriber's own domain name
On hosted sites, the business named on the page is the face of the site, but we are the host behind it. Contact forms on every site we host are processed by us (see Section 6), and we keep aggregate page-view counts for those sites (see Section 10). AI in the Lead is an AI software company — we build and host AI-generated websites for local trade businesses, and we also operate a Texas home-services directory.
2. Business Owners: If We Built a Preview Website About Your Business
Our main product starts with us building a website for a business before that business asks for one. If that business is yours, here is exactly what we collected, where it came from, what we do with it, and how to make it stop.
What we collect, and from where:
- From the Google Maps Places API: your business name, address, phone number, website address, hours, business category, and overall rating and review counts. We do not collect Google reviews or photos.
- From your own public website: a business contact email address, so we can reach you about the preview.
What we do with it:
- Generate a preview website about your business, hosted on an aiinthelead.com subdomain. It is clearly labeled as an AI-generated preview, excluded from search engines, and carries a visible banner with claim and remove links.
- Look at your existing website (an automated fetch plus AI-assisted grading) to judge whether our offer is even relevant to you. Ratings and review counts are used only for this internal qualification — we never republish them.
- Send you a limited number of emails about the preview.
Your rights — these work instantly:
- Remove the site: every preview carries a "Remove it" link. One click, no account needed. The site comes down immediately and permanently — we will not regenerate it.
- Stop the emails: every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing puts you on a permanent suppression list that our systems check before any send.
- Anything else: email matt@ai-in-the-lead.com — corrections, questions, or objections to how your business name is used.
3. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Contact and lead forms (on aiinthelead.com or any site we host): name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, service needed, and a description of the work
- Accounts (Service Providers and Instant Site subscribers): business name, email, phone, address, service areas, trade category, a password (stored hashed), and payment information (processed by Stripe — we never see or store card numbers)
- Site customization: business descriptions, logos, photos you upload, color preferences, and the instructions you type when directing our AI editor
- AI chat: messages you type into the chat assistant on our site
- Reviews: reviewer name, rating, review text, and email for verification
- Email: anything you email us, including replies to our outreach
Information collected automatically:
- Device and browser information: IP address (hashed for rate limiting and consent records — we do not store raw IPs), browser type, operating system, and device type
- Usage data: aggregate page views and referral sources via Plausible, a cookieless analytics service (see Section 10)
- Bot detection data: we use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect forms from spam and abuse. Turnstile may collect device and interaction signals to verify you are human, processed by Cloudflare under their privacy policy.
Information from third-party sources:
- Public business data: Google Maps Places listing data and business contact emails from businesses' own public websites, as described in Section 2
- Social lead ads (if we run them): if we ever run lead ads on platforms such as Facebook or Instagram, Meta would pass us the information you enter in those ad forms. We would treat it exactly like a form submitted on our own site, including the retention and opt-out rules in this policy.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To receive and relay contact-form submissions so your request gets a response (Section 6)
- To route directory service requests to a matching local Service Provider by trade and location
- To generate, host, and maintain websites — site text is produced with AI (Anthropic), and site imagery is AI-generated illustrative stock created with Cloudflare Workers AI; it does not depict the pictured business, its staff, or its work
- To assess business websites and build preview sites for business owners (Section 2)
- To send business owners a limited number of emails about our products (Section 7)
- To power the AI chat assistant and the AI site editor — messages and editing instructions are processed by Anthropic to produce responses and site changes
- When enabled, to process replies to our emails automatically, including AI-assisted classification (Anthropic), so a reply saying "remove my site" or "unsubscribe" is acted on quickly
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
5. How We Share Your Information
We share personal information only in these circumstances:
- With the business you asked to reach: when you submit a service request or a contact form on a site we host, your name, contact information, and request details go to the business you were trying to reach or the local business we match you with for your trade and area. That is the point of the form, and we share only what a business needs to respond.
- With service providers/processors: third-party services that operate parts of our platform on our behalf:
- Cloudflare (hosting, security, bot protection, DNS, edge database, and Workers AI for generating site imagery)
- Stripe (payment processing)
- Anthropic (AI processing: site content generation, the chat assistant, the AI site editor, outreach drafting, and — when enabled — classification of email replies)
- Resend (transactional email delivery — lead notifications, account communications)
- Google Workspace / Gmail (sending and receiving our business-outreach email)
- Plausible (cookieless, aggregate web analytics)
- Google Maps (public business listing data)
- As required by law: we may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not share it with them. One thing we want to be straight about: when you ask us to connect you with a service provider, we deliver your request details to that provider, and that provider may pay us a fee for the connection. That is you directing the disclosure — not us shopping your data around.
6. Contact Forms and Consent
Every lead form on our site and on the sites we host displays this notice: "By submitting this form, you agree to be contacted by phone, text, and email about your request. Message and data rates may apply." — with a link to this policy. Submitting the form is your consent to be contacted about that request, on those channels, by the business you were trying to reach (or the provider we match you with) and by us.
Forms on hosted sites submit to aiinthelead.com. When you submit one, we receive it, record consent evidence (the consent language shown, a timestamp, a hashed IP address, and browser details), and relay your request so it can be answered. This consent covers your service request — it is not signup for marketing lists.
7. Marketing Email and Opting Out
We send marketing email to one audience: business owners, about the preview website we built for their business (Section 2). We send a limited number of these emails, and every one includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing is permanent — suppressed addresses are checked before every send and never re-added.
To opt out of anything, use whichever is easiest:
- The unsubscribe link in any email we send
- The "Remove it" link on any preview site (also takes the site down, permanently)
- Email matt@ai-in-the-lead.com
We do not currently send marketing text messages. If that ever changes, we will collect proper consent first and update this policy.
8. Data Retention
- Consumer leads and form submissions: up to 24 months from submission, for lead quality analysis and dispute resolution
- Consent evidence: kept with the related lead record, and as long as we may need it to demonstrate that consent was given
- Scraped business data (Section 2): kept while our preview program operates and refreshed periodically from public sources. If you remove your preview, the takedown is permanent — we keep the minimal record needed to make sure it is never rebuilt.
- Outreach records: kept for the life of the email program, so we can cap how often anyone is contacted and prove we honored opt-outs
- Suppression list: kept indefinitely, on purpose — deleting it would un-honor your opt-out
- Accounts: retained for the duration of the account plus 12 months after cancellation
You may request earlier deletion of your information by contacting us (see Section 11).
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), hashed IP addresses, secure password storage using PBKDF2, JWT-based authentication, and Cloudflare's infrastructure security. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Cookies and Analytics
Our platform uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use Cloudflare Turnstile for bot detection, which may set cookies or use browser signals to verify visitors. For analytics we use Plausible, which is cookieless and reports only aggregate numbers — no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no individual profiles. On the websites we host, we keep aggregate page-view counts (how many visits a page received) that are not linked to individual identities.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion: request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention obligations (and the suppression-list exception in Section 8)
- Opt-out: opt out of marketing communications at any time
Business owners have two rights that work instantly, no email required: the "Remove it" link on any preview site and the one-click unsubscribe in every email (Section 2). For everything else, email matt@ai-in-the-lead.com with the subject "Privacy Request." We will respond within 30 days.
12. Children's Privacy
Our platform is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
